Are you one of those folks that hates the word prospecting? Maybe it got drilled into your head that you have to do this, have to that, yadayadayada, in order to be successful. And then of course you were supposed to by the sales program after the class, right? How would you like 5 No Brainer Tips for Salespeople that HATE Prospecting for FREE? It's really not rocket science folks, it's just not. But it is about building relationships. You've heard that before, right? I can see your face know - you know I can - buck up and listen!!
#1 Handwritten Notes. I have been a big believer in sending handwritten notes to people for years. One of my earliest mentors taught me about this little but very powerful tip that makes a huge difference. Buy different kinds of notes cards and always have them on hand. Take one hour a week - that's right - only one hour a week - schedule in time to write out 5 to 10 hand written note cards. Do this consistently and you'll be surprised how many people will call you just to say thanks for the card. It works if you do!
# 2 Coffee Shop Dates. Now this one is so easy because just about everyone has a coffee shop nearby they like to frequent. Make a couple Coffee Shop Dates every week with your A list, sphere of influence or business associates. Again, remember to ask them FORD questions (Family, Occupation,Recreation, Dreams) and get to know them better. And for Pete's sake don't make it all about YOU! Business might come up or it might not but I can guarantee that if you follow up with a personal card after your Coffee Shop Date you are on your way to creating a great relationship.
#3 Ring Ring. You do know what that means right? You actually have to talk to someone and not just text them or send them a FB message. Call at least 5 people a day. and 10 is better. And keep the calls SHORT, 3 to 5 minutes at the max. Don't be one of those folks that when people see your number they head for the hills, thinking ON NO, I don't have 20 to 30 minutes now to talk to her! There was a lender that used to do that too me and I hated it. I dreaded seeing his number on my phone. And I liked the guy, he was a good lender. But....

And as I always say be consistent and have FUN. Because..... if you're not having fun the odds of you sticking with it is slim to none.
