Good Or Not So Good When Selling?

Does color matter when selling your Phoenix home? Our painter has a great sense of humor! Today I stopped by a house he's been working on for us the last three weeks or so and he had lined up all the light switches to make a point! Ha! Ha! Got it!

It was unbelievably the MOST colorful house I've ever seen in my 28 years of selling homes! And I kid you not - there must have been at least 15 or so different paint colors throughout the home. To top off the paint colors some rooms were painted in various colors with very intricate checked and diagonal patterns. Plus there was various kinds of wall paper. Yikes!

Our home inspector calls it the Magical Mystery Tour Home. And he's spot on the money -  or rather used to be! Can you count the number of colors and designs?

Soon the home will be ready for market with updated light painted walls and white trim and woodwork. New carpet was going in today. Tomorrow the fans, lights and blinds will be replaced with light, bright and updated fixtures.

Are colorful homes more sellable? Nope! It is a much wiser idea to prepare your home for the biggest pool of potential buyers.  I'm quite sure nobody would be interested in buying this particular home unless it was priced very low at an investor price. It doesn't take a lot of money to make the updated changes if the 'bones' of the home are in good condition. This home is on a lovely cul-de-sac lot, open bright floor plan, fireplace, swimming pool, extended patio for entertaining, close to neighborhood park and schools.  It is a great home and most likely will sell very quickly with it's new face lift.  I'll share the after photos later.....
