Barney Our Little Love Bug!

Barney Our Little Love Bug!

When I saw that Lisa Von Domek was hosting another Love Story contest I immediately thought of many clients that I absolutely loved working with over my 30 years in the biz. This story is from 4 years ago and it's a story that keeps on giving love each and every day!

I received a call from an anxious lady about selling their home. You see they were upside down (short sale) and they had no idea of how to go about the sale.  Gary and I met with them and guess who was the first 'person' to greet us?  Barney! We spent an hour or so getting to know them and discussing their situation.  Their first step was to meet with our attorney to go over the legalities of short sales and to make sure that was the right step for them at this time. After that it was time to list the home and wait.

It was a smaller home and typically would sell fast but we were in the height of  the short sale/foreclosure time and they knew a lot of patience and belief would be needed. And I might add..........a lot of patience was needed!

The first offer fell through because the buyer was in a hurry and didn't want to wait for the bank so they walked away.  It broke my clients hearts but I said - hang in there we can get this done for you.  Let's just give it another try and see what happens. Thankfully another great offer came in, the bank accepted and actually got it in the loop to close before the end of the year.

Two days before the Christmas holiday the buyer called me in a panic. The buyer was supposed to keep their little BichonPoo (they couldn't take him with them) but the buyers changed their mind.  He said - I know you guys have loved  our little guy this last 6 months and we were wondering if you really meant that you'd take him? Yes we'll absolutely take Barney!  I knew it was going to break their hearts to give him up so we went over that evening to pick him up so they could move forward.

And the rest is history. Honestly this was the smallest transaction I've ever done but it didn't matter to me, I wanted to help out these sweet senior citizens that had fallen on tough times.   We've often said over the 4+ years Barney has been with us that it's the best commission EVER! Barney gives us so much love each and every day. Right now he's napping right by my feet as I type out this story!  Soon enough he'll want to go back out to 'prospect' with the other neighborhood dogs and of course want yet another treat! Barney is such a sweetheart!

PS Guess who woke up and wants to go out!!  Told ya!!

HI Anna -- this is the BEST love story about a transaction, but so much more than a transaction. Do the sellers know how much love and care you give Barney??

Anna, sometimes the smallest transactions can bring the biggest rewards!

OMG, Anna Banana Kruchten CRS,CRB the same thing happened to us. A client had to move out of state into a condominium and she had a VERY active hunting dog. She was still ambivilant about taking the dog but preferred that it stay with us. We have two other big dogs, a big yard, and she knew her dog would be well taken care of. Yes, we took "Daisy" into our hearts and family. We LOVE that high energy dog, gets our two older ones off their beds to play more often.

Anna many times the side rewards we receive from our transactions far exceed the monetary gain we make, and far more satisfying.

Now take Barney out for his walk

Anna,  I may be late to this party, but I loved your story about Barney.  I already love Barney and I haven't even met him yet!  What a great story.

I have been MIA from AR for a few months trying to clean up a website and link disaster.
