You've come a long way baby!
Brian England has come up with a very cool idea for an October contest! Let's Get Personal! You've got until the end of October to enter - so it's time to get cracking!
I wasn't sure where to start and fit it all in to a 300 word post - yikes! I grew up in Duluth MN with a pack of siblings (7 total). Hint! Hint! That was the start of my learning how to become a good negotiator and moderator. Being a middle child gave me a lot of space to do whatever I wanted - which was often reading and then more reading. I was one of those kids that read 5 or so books a week. I loved learning and exploring and still do to this day. I also loved playing outdoors. My Mom used to tell me that when I was a baby she'd put my snowsuit on and place me on the back porch. I'd cry when she brought me in. So I've got her to thank for loving the outdoors and hiking, skiing, golfing or anything outside.
In High School I went to a girls boarding school so that gave me another opportunity to learn how to get along well with 8 roommates and all the other classmates too. We were all expected to excel in academics and sports which I was perfectly good with. I was on all the sports teams and captain of volleyball, tennis and basketball team. Man that seems like another life time ago! 2 of my best friends at the boarding school were from Mexico. They spent a lot of time with my family over the breaks, holidays and traveling around the country with us. I also lived in Mexico with their family, learned Spanish and a totally different way of life!. The stories I could tell......very fun!
Oh no I'm already at 310 words and I'm not even in college yet. Yikes! I'll speed this up so I don't bore you to death. College was great! I ended up with 2 majors and 1 minor and went on to grad school. But - while backpacking out West during a summer break I got offered a really cool job in Vail - and I jumped at the chance! Adventure!!! Of course my folks thought I had lost it - but actually it was the perfect thing for me to do at the time. Holy smokes it was an entirely different world working with Vail folks, ranchers, cowboys, kids, teaching, managing huge events, you name it - I did it out west. I even managed to teach tennis, racquetball and skiing in my spare time. It truly was a fantastic opportunity for me!
But .....even at that time and space I had been dreaming of being in real estate!
Fast forward to 1987 and I got my license and began my career helping folks buy and sell properties. I love what I do to this day! Pretty simple really - if you love what you do it makes life an adventure!
The End! Well not really the end but like I said I don't want to bore you!!
